Things To Do In New York City

I Love New York City!!! There are lots of tourist activities you can find in the city if you are determined to have fun. I had a few days to explore the city and I just couldn’t get enough of it.

Central Park:
I love talking about Central Park; No New York tour is complete without a visit to this park. If you have seen the movie ‘Enchanted’ then you would understand how I feel about this. Lol. Central Park is huge and beautiful and hundreds of movies have been filmed in this location. You can spend the whole day at the park and still not see it all. I took my time to explore the park, took amazing pictures and i haven’t stopped talking about it.

Manhattan Walking Tours:
I did the guided walking tour. We started at the Lower East Side (Downtown Manhattan), visited the heart of China Town and Brooklyn. The tour guide took us through the different eras of these neighborhoods, studying communities and checking out street art. Certainly, I walked on Brooklyn bridge…how can you be in New York and not walk on Brooklyn bridge??? Lol. This bridge is one of the oldest bridges in the United States, completed in 1883, the bridge is  about 1.8 km long and there is a dedicated pedestrian walkway on the bridge so you can take amazing pictures while you stroll.

Staten Island:
I took the Staten Island ferry from Lower Manhattan to Staten Island. From the ferry, I had a good view of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the skyscrapers and bridges of lower Manhattan. I didn’t make it to the top of the Statue of Liberty but this is definitely on my bucket list. The trick is to book your ticket early as most tickets (especially if you want to make it to the crown-top of the statue) are sold out 3-4 weeks ahead of schedule.

Times Square
If you haven’t visited Times Square, then you haven’t been to New York. This popular tourist attraction is one of those places that make New York a city that never sleeps. The view at night is amazing and a must see.

Empire State Building
If you have seen the movie ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ then you owe yourself a visit to the Empire State Building…lol. The view of the city from the top is charming.

The Rockefeller Center
The Rockefeller center is known as the Capital of ‘New York City Christmas’. The world’s famous Christmas tree is located at the Rockefeller Center, a Christmas lighting ceremony takes place annually and over five miles of lights are used to decorate the tree every year. You can take amazing pictures of the city including that of the Empire State Building from the top of Rock.
