Atlanta

My Experience in Atlanta by Emma

I took a trip to Atlanta, USA to visit my friend, Chiamaka and of course see Atlanta. Chiamaka recently relocated from Maryland to Atlanta and she hadn’t explored the city. My visit presented the perfect opportunity to explore together.

Day  1

I departed Baltimore, MD for Atlanta and touched down in one hour fifty-five minutes. Upon arrival, we set out to explore the city, making stops at Emory University Hospital, Mercedes Benz Stadium and College Football Hall of Fame.

Day 2

The next day, Chiamaka and I visited Coca-Cola.  We were welcomed with complimentary drinks and given a brief introduction into the history of the brand. We did a guided tour around the building where we viewed various coke bottles from inception till date and of course took photos to capture those moments.

The tour included a puzzle to identify the hidden formula of the coke brand, a game zone where we could create our own coke bottle designs, a tour of the production facility and tasting of some of the unique flavors of Coca-Cola from the continents of the world.

Next stop was CNN World Headquarters while passing through the Centennial Olympic Park. At CNN, we were given a guided tour of some of the facilities. From CNN, we stopped at Phillips Arena ARENA, got on the Sky View Atlanta to get a scenic view of the city.

Next stop was Georgia Aquarium.

Day 3

The next day, we visited Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and then drove to Auburn Avenue to see the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jnr. We visited the birth home of Martin Luther King, Jnr where he spent the first 12-years of his life. We also visited Ebenezer Baptist Church; where Martin Luther King, Jnr, and his father preached for years.

Our next stop was Stone Mountain where we took a cable car to the top of the mountain. The top of the mountain can be accessed by train, hiking and the cable car.

We bought some souvenirs at the Stone Mountain stores and then drove around the Georgia Capitol.

It was a memorable visit to Atlanta.
