Travel is never a matter of money but of courage

This quote is often met with mixed reactions, especially from people who do not travel. Howbeit, if you have traveled as much as I have, you will agree that Paulo Coelho nailed it in this quote.

Traveling often begins with the courage to try. The courage to sacrifice other things you want for your travel goals. The courage to say “if I have to starve till the next pay-day, at least I accomplished my travel goals.

Very few of us get funded by the fictitious “African Prince”. Some of us pay our way through travel. We watch ‘painfully’ our finances depict constantly, nonetheless, travel makes it worthwhile.

The question is, how much inconvenience are you willing to deal with in order to achieve your travel goals? How important is travel to you?

According to Paulo Coelho, “Travel is never a matter of money but of courage. I spent a large part of my youth traveling the world as a hippie. And what money did I have then? None. I barely had enough to pay for my fare. But I still consider those to have been the best years of my youth. The great lessons I learned have been precisely those that my journeys had taught me.”

Now, do you have the courage to live your travel dreams? If it’s important you will find a way, if not, you will find an excuse.
