I wanted to explore an African destination so I discussed my plans with a friend and we agreed South Africa would be a joy to see. He had been there before but it was going to be my first time in South Africa. Our visas, hotel bookings and travel tickets were processed within seven working days and i packed my little bag (men travel light…lol) and boarded a plane from Lagos, Nigeria to O R Tambo International, Airport, Guateng, South Africa.
Like they knew i had a thing for culture, I was fascinated by a small music cultural group that welcomed guests at the airport. My brother in-law was there to pick me up and off we went to the City Of Pretoria.
In Pretoria, i went for a boat ride, visited the Zoo, did some shopping and took a tour around the city. My friend from Lagos arrived three days later and I left Pretoria to meet with him in Johannesburg for our onward journey to Cape town. Frank, a great guy who was referred to us by a friend in Lagos came to pick us from the airport, assisted with our hotel reservations and took us out to dinner at a nice Korean restaurant. The next day, we went up the table mountain, about 1,200feet above sea level, visited VLA water front, the local market and the shopping malls in the city. We spent three days in the beautiful City of Cape Town and returned to Johannesburg afterwards. In Johannesburg we met with some friends, visited Nelson Mandela’s Square in Sandton and did some shopping at Sandton City before heading back to Lagos, Nigeria.
My pictures can tell my story.
