Hong Kong

My Experience in Hong Kong

I have been travelling a lot lately for business. This time, I decided to try something different by undertaking an INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTARY WORK with Crossroads Foundation, a non-governmental organization in Hong Kong, China. My mum and I, arrived Hong Kong and we were hosted by a lovely Cameroonian lady married to a Nigerian man.

Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong based non-profit organisation with the objective of bringing together those in need and those who can help. It is a platform where people from different parts of the world come together to help out. My mum and I participated in the Blind simulation, AIDS simulation and Refugee simulation. This gave us an insight to the plight of people in these circumstances as well as their creativity and extraordinary capabilities.

Aside from the simulations, we had the opportunity to help package clothing, medical equipment and other items to Cameroon, Morocco and Nepal (as we say in Naija “IT WASN’T BEANS”) Lol.

I met with an old school mate in Hong Kong and we explored the city at night while activating our taste buds to the likes of squid, octopus etc. I also indulged in some shopping to satisfy my shopaholic addiction.

Coincidentally, there was a Nigerian wedding happening the week we arrived and we were invited to join the celebration.

I plan to visit Hong Kong again to spend time and explore the sites & sounds of HONG KONG.
