As part of the Wakaholic Hotel Exploration, I visited Epe Resort, a gorgeous luxurious haven sited in a serene area away from the hassle of the city of Lagos. The resort is located 50mins away from the 2nd Lekki Toll Gate (by Chevron) and the roads are in good condition.
If you are looking for a refreshing weekend away from home, Epe resort is the perfect place for you. It is also ideal for corporate and religious retreats where you can escape from the stress of the city life for some bonding time with your colleagues, friends and family.
Epe resort has a total of 40 rooms, with 14 superior rooms, 18 deluxe rooms, and 8 Luxury Garden Suites. It features a restaurant with an external Barbeque and Alfresco dining area, a swimming pool and kiddies jungle-gym, a tennis court, mini soccer and volleyball, 80 seater conference room with audio and visual equipment, 15 seater boardroom, 24-hour electricity, CCTV, Fire detection and water treatment. The resort has ample parking space and complimentary WiFi access available in all areas.
The Reception
It was Christmas season and the reception was beautifully decorated in the spirit of the season.
I arrived on Christmas Eve and was ready to experience Christmas differently.
At the reception, you will appreciate the display of some of the finest work of art by the very talented Bruce Prins. Born in South Africa, Bruce Prins is the General Manager of Epe Resort. He spends most of his leisure time painting, sketching or writing.
The Room
Everyone loves a good night sleep and Mybed collection by Sofitel makes that possible in Epe Resort. I stayed in the beautiful Luxury Garden Suite with a patio overlooking the lush garden. The bed was top-notch and pleasurable for a good night rest.
The rooms at Epe Resort are all en-suite, clean, tastefully furnished with dark wood, flat screen TV with premium DSTV channels and they come with patios overlooking the garden.
Room rates (as at December 2017)
Superior Garden Room – NGN 43,000 ($119)
Deluxe Garden Room – NGN 53,000 ($147)
Luxury Garden Suite – NGN 60,000 ($167)
The Restaurant
I told you about the amazing artwork by Bruce Prins. Some paintings can be viewed in the restaurant.
The Menu
Breakfast
Breakfast was served in the restaurant. It included a decent spread of continental and African cuisines.
Lunch
Christmas day lunch was phenomenal. I had chicken pepper-soup, jollof rice with fried plantain and snails. For dessert, I had a combination of red velvet and chocolate cake, fruits and a glass of cosmopolitan cocktail drink.
Dinner
The highlight of my meal was the fish. I love the way fish is prepared at Epe Resort.
The Roof-Top Bar
Do not leave Epe Resort without watching the sunset from the roof-top bar. It is absolutely gorgeous.
Here you can catch a view of the Lagos lagoon and appreciate nature around you.
The Swimming pool and Tennis Court
The Conference/Board Room
Epe Resort has conference and meeting rooms furnished with state of the art facilities. It is the perfect location for corporate and religious retreats, as well as seminars and conferences.
The Spa

Nice place, I particularly like the paintings. Woow, the roof top view is breadth taking. The food looks great. Never knew such place existed with my vicinity. It’s truly “Closer than you think”😀 Thanks Oto, will surely checkout it out and recommend. Cheers
Thanks Jennifer. It is a very beautiful place for a refreshing weekend.
My absolute favorite things are the paintings and the roof-top bar, that view is just gorgeous, oh my! I also love the tones in the hotel rooms as well as the furnishings, the bath area looks really nice, I cant deal with weird decor/colors in hotel rooms. This is such a lovely review, very detailed too. I saw a review of this place late last year on Spice TV i think, not sure and I’ve wanted to visit since then. Now after seeing this review its a must that i visit ASAP. PS: Your photos are fia fia! You want to take my job abi..lol.
Hahaha… thank you.
The roof-top bar is spacious, beautiful and peaceful. I forgot for a moment that I was in Lagos.
Thanks Oto for a nice review. You took me on a journey which has piqued my interest, I should visit the resort for a weekend getaway sometime during the year. I like the serene environment and the beautiful view…….
Thank you. I recommend you visit. 🙂
Lovely review, beautiful decor. The bath tub sure looks like where i’d love to be. It would be so great to have some wine and read a book in it. Aunty Oto my bags are packed for this trip, it’s been a while since I took a break from everything 😂🙈
Lol. I see you.
For the life of me! As a ‘from’ Epe girl,I never knew we had such beauty sitting right at the heart of my villa(hope my ancestors ain’t vexed).I love the roof top and bath tub – my time would be spent dancing and thinking/mediatating in such place, maybe some of my innovative works would be birthed there so I can give credit to Epe resort and Auntie Oto for the free opportunity in my Forbes interview!I really can’t wait to do this with my best friend(Lola)… that girl going lick my feet,oh sorry 😀I mean bless my soul. Let’s do this 🎤 What ya say?
Hahaha… Nice!
First of all, I’m super jealous of that image with you in the bathtub… I want enjoyment to kill me too… Please take me on your next trip… N as a big lover of gardens, this place would just be purrfecto for my dream garden wedding with 50guests(But African parents 😭😭😭) and I already see myself with bae at that rooftop looking at the sunset(Issa romantic sturvs)
Hahaha… great!
Wow! I’ve been to Epe Resort but your reviews makes it come alive! You make me want to plan another trip.
Nice! Thanks, Titi.
Hello, returning to check for my comment and realized I can’t find it anymore.
Fixed. Not sure why it ended in my ‘spam box”.
This hotel is so beautiful. The views, the art, and the serenity. I’ve always wanted a getaway weekend to meditate, have fun, relax and enjoy quality time with a loved one. This place would be perfect. Aunty Oto after all the stress from NLS this would be the perfect place for me to recharge. Plus it would be perfect holiday compensation for me as my holiday season wasn’t intriguing in the least.
P.s i’ve had my eye on that bathtub you soaked in, since your instagram picture. It’s everything and more that I’ve desired. I outgrew my bathtub at home 😢 and haven’t found another relaxing spot since. I would love love love this weekend getaway. Thank you. God bless you.
Nice one, Didi. Bless you too.
Oto!!!! Best christmas ever! I’m definitely going back for a weekend, with industrial size bubble bath liquid no less.
Thank you, dear! I won’t forget the bubble bath liquid next time. Lol
Hello, great review. Would you recommend the superior garden room or should i just splurge on the luxury or deluxe? Also, is there lunch and dinner buffet? Thanks
All options are great, depending on your budget. The luxury garden suite is bigger. Lunch/Dinner buffet options are available.
