Why We Love The Land Of Promise!

How did you spend the Easter holidays? For me, getting time off work was the best part of my Easter break. I decided to spend time with my family in the City of Uyo (the Land of Promise), Akwa Ibom State. I travel home as often as I can but this trip was different because I explored the city through the eyes of a “wakaholic”.

For the first time in sixteen years, I visited my hometown, a small village on the outskirts of Uyo. Back in Uyo, we had a full house, all five siblings of mine had returned home for the weekend. We had our family meeting, spent time cooking and laughing in the kitchen with mummy dearest, visited friends and close relatives, and visited some iconic sites to enrich this article of mine.

Akwa Ibom State, particularly the city of Uyo has experienced radical changes in recent years and these developments have made the city attractive to investors and tourists.

Why we love the Land of Promise;

  1. The People

Akwa Ibom people are industrious, resourceful and hospitable. We have a rich cultural heritage and pride ourselves in our exotic dishes largely dominated by vegetables, sea foods and domestic animals. The average akwa ibom girl-child is trained at a very tender age to carter for the family and this she derives pleasure in doing.

2. Le Meridien Golf Resort
