Christmas in Nigeria

My 2015 Christmas Story by Iniobong

My Name is Iniobong Akpan and I am a wakaholic. Having the ability to travel around the world and experience new things, meet new people and learn about diverse cultures is so rejuvenating.

In December 2015, I went back to my roots, the Land of Promise, the beautiful City of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to reunite with my family and friends. My State is known for its rich and unique cultural heritage, diverse delicacies and its hospitable people. Gosh!  How I missed our delicacies.

The Christmas season is usually packed with exciting events such as, Christmas parties, weddings, housewarming parties, family reunion parties, beach parties, weddings etc. I also attended Calabar Carnival for the first time and had a great experience. I even tied the popular Nigerian ‘gele’ which I haven’t done in ages…lol. I could go on and on about my Christmas experience but I’d rather have my pictures tell my story… Enjoy!
