China travel

Destination: China by Didi

When people say “See Asia and die” literally speaking, they aren’t lying. I have never seen a continent that has so much pride in their culture, food and heritage and despite the influence of western culture still manage to preserve their history going as far back as 2000 years.

I was privileged to visit Beijing, China where I was taken to Summer Palace which in December 1998, UNESCO included on its World Heritage List. It declared the Summer Palace “a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design”. I also visited the Temple of Heaven which is a medieval complex of religious buildings situated in the south-eastern part of central Beijing. The complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayers for good harvest. I was also privileged to tick off one of my bucket list which was visiting the Great Wall of China, being the only man-made object that can be seen from space. China is one of my best travel destinations, not just for business but also for leisure.

Another ‘must see’ is the Forbidden City which was the Chinese Imperial Palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty (years 1420 to 1912). It is located in the centre of Beijing and now houses the Palace Museum. I also visited the Beijing Olympic stadium.

Here are some pictures from my China trip. Enjoy!
