Leavenworth is a city in Chelan County, Washington, United States. The entire town center is modeled on a Bavarian village.
I went to Leavenworth for a Residency retreat and met up with some friends.The best part about the city is the fascinating lights during the Christmas/New Year season. Since the town is modeled on a Bavarian village, the architecture is a treat to look at and the food is mainly based on German cuisine.
There are hiking trails along the outskirts of town and during the winter time, the lake is frozen over and you can see wild life walking on it.
For chocolate lovers, there is a great chocolate place called Schocalat and a few wine tasting places you can explore in the city.
