Aside from the everyday traffic and over-population Lagos is known for, it is also a good place to create fun memories. Lagos, otherwise known as Eko, is the commercial capital of Nigeria. It is a vibrant metropolitan city blessed with many exciting places to visit. Speak of exclusive events, festivals, shopping malls, art galleries, museums, beautiful beaches, relaxation spots, etc., Lagos is the place to be.

Some of my favorite places include Sugarcane (I love the waffles and chicken), Lydia’s place (I love the fisherman soup and seafood okro), Cubana grill (I love the well seasoned grilled fish), Churrasco (I love the Brazilian styled dining), The Backyard, Cactus (I love the salads and ice cream), Yellow Chilli (I love the seafood okro) and Kohinoor Lagos for a variety of treats.
4. Lekki Conservation Centre
Established in 1990 by the Chevron Corporation for the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, Lekki Conservation Centre offers serenity as it is a sure escape from the boisterous Lagos life. It is known to have the longest canopy walk in Africa. Here are some of the things that make the Lekki Conservation Centre exciting:

5. Nigerian National Museum
If you want to explore the history of Nigeria and her diverse cultural heritage, then the National Museum is where you should go. Built in 1957, the Nigeria National Museum is located opposite Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos Island. It exhibits the works of art dating back to the era prior to Nigeria’s independence and displays historical monuments and contemporary arts such as Nok Terracottas, brasses from Benin City, etc. Among the notable historical monuments, you will find in the museum is the bullet-riddled car in which Nigeria’s former Head of State, Late General Murtala Mohammed was assassinated in 1976.
6. Hi-Impact Planet
Hi-Impact Planet is an amusement park located at Kilometre 12, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ibafo. It is a good place where you can have as much fun as you want and even make long-lasting memories with family and friends.
It is accommodating to anyone, whether old or young. With the amazing indoor games and outdoor rides, you can bet your kids would never forget the experience. Although it is located at Ibafo which isn’t in Lagos – it is just a 10-minute drive from Berger. Here are some of the features that make it an exciting place to be:
The Enterprise (a thrilling ride with twenty gondolas, each of which two people can sit in), The Ferris wheel, The Spring ride, Go Kart, The Free Styler, The Hoopla, The Dream Machine, Ice rink, The Samba Balloon, Kite flyer, Go jump, 12D cinema, Boeing 777 outperforming ride, Eye-combat games and Ferry spin.
7. Tarkwa Bay Beach
To get to the Tarkwa Bay beach, you need a boat. It is a sheltered beach that is located on an island near the Lagos Harbour. Most swimmers and water-sports enthusiasts love to visit the Tarkwa Bay Beach. What distinguishes it from other beaches in Lagos is that it is not overcrowded and buzzing. Yes, it offers you calm and serenity even though it is usually more populated on weekends, public holidays and during the festive seasons.
8. Shopping Malls
Lagos is the city of malls and among the many malls in Lagos is the Ikeja City Mall, Palms Shopping Mall (Victoria Island), Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Mall (Surulere), Kohinoor Lagos (Lekki). These malls house different shops where you can get quality products of quality brands. They are equipped with cinemas, restaurants, and kids to play area.
9. Epe Resort
This a gorgeous luxurious resort sited in a serene area away from the hassle of the city of Lagos. It features a restaurant with an external Barbeque and Alfresco dining area, a swimming pool and kiddies jungle-gym, a tennis court, mini soccer and volleyball, etc.
10. Inagbe Grand Resorts & Leisure
This beautiful resort is a hidden paradise located on Inagbe Island, which is about 15mins boat ride from Victoria Island. This stunning resort captures the essence of nature, culture, and tradition.
Other places of interest include, Get Arena, La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, Nike Art Gallery and Omu Resort.
I personally believe number one on the list for non-party goers should be art galleries.
The island alone has over 25 with Nike been the biggest with over 7,000 collections. Thanks for adding it.
Personally, I also visited some event centres/chilling spots in Lagos like the Bics Garden and Boat Club. It’s really good for hosting events, catching your breath or kayaking.
Lively Post!
