For a Nigerian passport holder, getting a US/UK or Schengen Visa can be such a hard task. The bonus to obtaining any of the three visas is the advantage of traveling to some other countries visa-free.
Countries who waive visa requirements for citizens of countries who would ordinarily require a visa – if they have a US/UK or Schengen visa, usually provide the terms and conditions. Such terms may include certain visa categories, the maximum duration of stay, or the requirement that the visa must be valid for a certain period and/or the visa must be used at least once.
These terms are usually straightforward and you should always read about them on the official websites of the applicable countries.
Some people obtain at least one of these visas and do not get to maximize their visas. That is changing now because below are countries that you can visit with a Nigerian Passport if you have a US/UK or Schengen visa.
The US visa grants you access to the United States and its territories as well as some other countries we will discuss below. For the US the following Visa categories are eligible
- Business or Tourist Visa (B1/B2)
- Work Visa (L1/L2/H1/H4)
- Permanent Residency (Green card)
Some countries also allow F1 and C/D type of visas.
The UK visa grants you free access to England, Scotland, Wales, and North Ireland as well as the British territories.
The Schengen visa grants access to Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland. Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.

1. Mexico
This is the land of eternal parties, cheap drinks, and knockoff bags. You can attend colorful festivals and even bring your favorite Telenovela to life. Mexico allows up to 180 days with a valid US/UK/ Schengen visa.
2. Dominican Republic, Belize & Costa Rica
Famous for their beautiful resorts and beaches, you are sure to have the time of your life in these beautiful tourist destinations.These countries allow entry for up to 30 days with a valid UK/US, while Belize also accepts a Schengen visa.
3. Panama
Fast becoming a huge tourist attraction, they are known for their friendly locals and lovely beaches. It allows up to 30 days with a valid US/UK visa. The US visa has to be valid for at least 6 months from the arrival date and must have been used to enter the US at least once.
4. Jamaica/ Antigua and Barbuda
Both countries are a popular cruise destination so if you are a passenger going on a cruise which stops here, you are allowed entry into the country without a visa for one day only. Jamaica allows a 1- day stay with a valid US visa, while you’ll require any of a USA/UK/ Schengen visa to get into Antigua & Barbuda
5. Montenegro / Cuba
Perfect for a dream holiday. You can enter both countries for Up to 30 days with a valid US/UK visa. Montenegro also accepts a valid Schengen Visa. However, a tourist card is required in Cuba
6. Georgia, Albania, Turkey & Serbia
Georgia, Albania & Serbia are located in Europe and famous for their architectural wonders, delicious food and breathtaking natural scenes! You can enter into these countries for up to 90 days with a valid UK/US/Schengen visa. However, for Albania, you must have visited the UK and US at least once on either visa.
7. Macedonia/ Sao Tome & Principe
While these countries are little known, they have amazing tourist attractions. You can spend up to 15 days with a valid US/Schengen visa. Macedonia also accepts the UK visa, however, for the US visa, it must be valid for at least 5 days beyond the intended period of stay.
8. Qatar
This popular Middle Eastern country is famous for its luxurious lifestyle! You can get up to 30/90 days with an E- application and a visa on arrival. (depending on visa type and country) Applicable for US/UK/Schengen visa.
9. British Territories
You can get an entry for 30 – 90 days with a valid US/UK visa to the British Virgin Islands, Gibraltar, Turks and Caicos and Bermuda depending on the country issuing the visa.
10. Saint Maarten, Bosnia and Herzegovina
These countries allow entry for up to 30 days with a valid UK/Schengen visa. Bosnia and Herzegovina also accept entry with a valid US visa.
